Issue of Mitrokhin archivesOn September 11, 1999 London "The Times", radio corporation BBC and other British mass media settled down to the exposition and comments of the book by a scientist from Cambridge Christopher Andrew "Mitrokhin’s archive". It’s stated that this book has been written on basis of secret materials which have been exported secretly by the former KGB archive officer Vasily Mitrokhin. Mitrokhin purports escaped to the West in 1992 by catching 6 cases with "thousands of most secret files" by KGB external intelligence. First who suffered from the book’s publication was Melita Horwood who was presented as "one of more valuable KGB agents in Great Britain". This English woman who is now 87 was cooperating with the Soviet intelligence for more than 4 decades beginning from 1937. Especially valuable materials were got from her to the USSR during the period after the World War II when she worked as a secretary of British association on research of non-ferrous metals (BAICM).
